Better colon cancer detection for IBD patients? study tests two screening methods

NCT ID NCT04191655

Summary

This study compared two standard colonoscopy techniques used to screen for colon cancer in people who have had inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) for eight years or more. Researchers tested whether high-definition white-light colonoscopy works as well as dye-spraying colonoscopy at finding precancerous growths. The trial involved 211 adult patients with long-standing ulcerative colitis, Crohn's colitis, or similar conditions.
