Cold plasma could speed healing for life support patients

NCT ID NCT07501897

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a new, gentle treatment called cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) for wounds where tubes are inserted in patients on life support. These wounds often heal slowly and get infected. The study will compare standard wound care alone to standard care plus CAP in 65 adults. The goal is to see if CAP reduces infection and speeds healing.
