Double procedure could cut stroke and bleeding risk in heart patients

NCT ID NCT07450755

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at doing two heart procedures at the same time in people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). The first uses targeted energy to fix the heart's electrical signals, and the second closes a small pouch in the heart to lower stroke risk. Researchers want to see if combining them is safe and helps patients recover faster. About 150 adults who need both treatments will take part.
