First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a cochlear implant in the deaf ear can help adults who have severe hearing loss in one ear and better hearing in the other. 59 adults received an implant and were tested on their ability to understand speech, locate sounds, and perceive benefits. The goal was to see if adding the implant improves hearing beyond using the better ear alone.
