Cochlear implant gives deaf ear a voice, boosts hearing in noisy rooms
NCT ID NCT02004535
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a cochlear implant in the poorer ear helps adults who have severe hearing loss in one ear and better hearing in the other. 59 adults received an implant and were tested on how well they could understand speech and locate sounds. The goal was to see if using both ears together improves hearing compared to using the better ear alone.
