Could rebreathing your own air stop fainting spells?

NCT ID NCT05908760

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests a simple device that lets people breathe in a little extra carbon dioxide (CO2) to raise blood pressure. It is for people with neurogenic orthostatic hypotension, a condition where blood pressure drops sharply when standing, causing dizziness or fainting. About 28 adults will try the device during a tilt-table test to see if it improves blood pressure and symptoms compared to normal air.
