Surgery or therapy? study seeks best path to better walking for nerve disease patients

NCT ID NCT07432035

Summary

This study aims to find out which treatment approach works better for improving walking ability in people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), a nerve condition that causes foot deformities and walking difficulties. Researchers will compare 200 participants who either had foot surgery followed by rehabilitation or received structured physical therapy alone, tracking their walking performance over two years. The goal is to help patients and doctors make more informed decisions about managing walking problems in CMT.
