Surgery or therapy? study seeks best path to walk better with nerve disease

NCT ID NCT07432035

Summary

This study aims to find out which treatment helps people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) walk better over time. It will compare two common approaches: foot surgery followed by rehabilitation, or structured physical therapy alone. Researchers will follow 200 participants for up to two years, measuring their walking speed, endurance, and daily function to see which strategy leads to more meaningful improvement.
