First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This first-in-human study tested a new smart guidewire (Clotild®) in 45 stroke patients to see if it can safely guide a clot-removal device to the blockage. The main goal was to check for any blood vessel damage caused by the wire. A secondary goal was to see if the wire could measure the clot's electrical properties to help doctors understand the clot type.
