First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to use deep brain stimulation for people with severe chronic pain from stroke, spinal cord injury, or phantom limb. Instead of constant stimulation, the device activates only when pain signals in the brain are high. Four participants will be monitored to see if this personalized approach provides lasting relief.
