Old leprosy drug tested against rising lung infection in seniors
NCT ID NCT02968212
Summary
This study is testing whether an antibiotic called clofazimine can help treat lung infections caused by Mycobacterium Avium Complex (MAC), which is becoming more common in older adults. The drug is currently used for leprosy but is being studied here for MAC. Researchers will compare clofazimine to a placebo in 102 adults over 6 months to see if it clears the infection and improves symptoms.
