Old leprosy drug gets new shot at fighting stubborn lung bug

Summary

This study is testing whether an antibiotic called clofazimine can help treat a persistent lung infection called Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). 102 adults with MAC lung disease will take either the drug or a placebo for six months to see if it clears the infection from their lungs. Researchers will also check if the treatment improves breathing, energy levels, and overall quality of life.
