Real-Time microscope during lung biopsy could boost diagnosis accuracy

Summary
This study tests whether using a special real-time microscope (confocal laser endomicroscopy) during a lung lining biopsy helps doctors diagnose unknown pleural disease more accurately than standard visual guidance. About 158 adults with unexplained fluid around the lung will be randomly assigned to either the microscope-guided or standard biopsy method. The main goal is to see if the new approach leads to a correct diagnosis more often.
