Computer nudge boosts kidney testing in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT05342545

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether an electronic alert in the medical record system could prompt doctors to order a urine test that checks for early kidney damage in people with type 2 diabetes. About 400 adults who hadn't had this test in the past year took part. The goal was to see if the alert leads to more testing and earlier diagnosis of chronic kidney disease.
