Blood markers may reveal breast cancer hormone sensitivity

NCT ID NCT01612871

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looked at whether tiny molecules called microRNAs in the blood can help doctors know if hormone therapy will work for women with advanced breast cancer. Researchers tested blood samples from 39 women before and after starting treatment with tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors. The goal was to see if these microRNAs could predict treatment response, which could lead to more personalized care in the future.
