Scientists hunt for genes that reverse aging of the body clock

NCT ID NCT04086589

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study aims to understand why our internal body clock weakens with age. Researchers will collect blood from healthy young (20-35) and elderly (70-85) adults and test how it affects circadian rhythms in lab-grown cells. The goal is to identify genes that can restore the clock, which may later be tested in animals. No direct treatment is offered to participants.
