NCT ID NCT05278234

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether community health workers (trained local helpers) could teach older adults in underserved areas how to better manage chronic pain. Over 400 mostly African American seniors received phone coaching and mobile health tools for 7 weeks. The goal was to see if this approach reduced how much pain interfered with daily life, compared to usual care.
