Faith in motion: church walking groups aim to curb chronic disease in older black adults

Summary
This study partners with 26 African Methodist Episcopal (AME) churches in South Carolina to help older adults (50+) get more physical activity. The program, called Walk Your Heart to Health, includes group walks and healthy eating support. Researchers will track how well churches adopt the program and measure changes in participants' daily steps and social connections. The goal is to prevent chronic diseases by making active lifestyles easier to sustain.
