New gel could speed healing for diabetics after tooth removal

Summary
This study tests whether a gel containing chitosan and chlorhexidine can improve wound healing after lower molar extraction in people with controlled diabetes. The gel is applied to the extraction site to reduce bleeding, pain, and swelling. Forty adults with controlled diabetes will participate, and the study is currently enrolling.
