Chest pain study: could a quick clinic visit replace a hospital stay?

NCT ID NCT05897632

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with chest pain who are at moderate risk for a heart attack can be safely evaluated as outpatients instead of being admitted to the hospital. About 502 adults will be randomly assigned to either rapid outpatient testing or standard hospital care. The goal is to see which approach leads to more days spent at home and better use of healthcare resources.
