Chest pain study: could a fast clinic visit replace hospitalization?

NCT ID NCT05897632

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with chest pain who are at moderate risk for a heart attack can be safely evaluated as outpatients instead of being admitted to the hospital. About 502 adults with chest pain will be randomly assigned to either a rapid outpatient evaluation or standard hospital care. The goal is to see which approach leads to more days spent at home and better use of healthcare resources.
