NCT ID NCT05342701
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a special afterschool program called CHAMP that helps children ages 5-8 improve their motor skills and become more physically active. About 264 kids from afterschool programs in Michigan will take part, with half doing CHAMP and half continuing their usual activities. The program runs for 19 weeks and focuses on building skills like throwing, kicking, and running in a supportive environment.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could provide a simple, fun way to help children become more active and improve their motor skills and fitness.
- What could go wrong
- This is a relatively small, early-stage study focused on behavior change, so results may not apply broadly. The program may not produce lasting improvements in physical activity or health.
