Could a simple ultrasound replace costly scans for liver cancer patients?
NCT ID NCT06261814
First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tests whether contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) can accurately show how well liver tumors are responding to a treatment called chemoembolization (TACE). Currently, doctors wait 1-2 months after TACE and use MRI or CT scans to check. CEUS can be done during the procedure, potentially giving results much sooner. About 266 adults scheduled for TACE will receive an ultrasound with a contrast agent, and researchers will compare its accuracy to standard imaging.
