Drug combo shows promise for Tough-to-Treat ovarian and breast cancers

NCT ID NCT01116648

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested whether combining two drugs—cediranib (which cuts off a tumor's blood supply) and olaparib (which blocks cancer cell repair)—works better than olaparib alone for people with certain ovarian, fallopian tube, peritoneal, or triple-negative breast cancers that have come back. About 155 adults took part. The goal was to find the safest dose and see if the combo delays cancer growth longer than the single drug.
