First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving an anxiety-reducing pill (Xanax) before cataract surgery helps patients feel less pain and more satisfied with their anesthesia. About 400 adults having cataract surgery will be randomly given either Xanax or a placebo. Researchers will measure their anxiety, pain, and satisfaction to see if the medication improves the overall experience.
