Summary

This study looks at whether giving a mild anti-anxiety pill (Xanax) before cataract surgery helps patients feel less pain and more satisfied with their anesthesia. About 400 adults having cataract surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either Xanax or a placebo. Researchers will measure anxiety levels before and after the pill, and ask about pain and satisfaction after surgery.
