First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested a new type of cast made with 4D printing technology against the usual fibreglass cast for people with wrist fractures. 25 adults with wrist fractures were randomly assigned to receive either the 4D printed cast or a standard fibreglass cast. The goal was to see if the new cast keeps the bone in place just as well while being more comfortable and easier to live with.
