First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looked at how well people think and remember after surgery to clear a blocked neck artery (carotid endarterectomy). About 817 patients took brain tests before and after surgery, and their results were compared to spine surgery patients. The goal was to find out how often brain function changes happen and how long they last.
