Summary
This study looked at how well people think and remember after carotid artery surgery (a procedure to clear blocked neck arteries). Researchers tested brain function before and after surgery in 817 patients and compared them to people having spine surgery. The goal was to find out how often mental changes happen after carotid surgery and how long it takes to recover.
