Neck filter implants aim to stop repeat strokes in heart patients

Summary
This study tests whether placing small filters in the neck arteries (carotid implants) can catch blood clots before they reach the brain, reducing the risk of another stroke in people with atrial fibrillation who already had a stroke. About 2,000 participants will either get the implants plus standard blood thinners or blood thinners alone. The goal is to see if the implants lower the chance of a major stroke caused by large clots.
