Summary

This study will check heart disease risk scores in 238 adults with type 2 diabetes who are 40 or older. Researchers want to see if simple, non-invasive measures of belly fat (called LAP and VAI) are linked to higher cardiovascular risk. The goal is to find easier ways to identify patients who need early heart care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors better predict heart disease risk in type 2 diabetes patients using simple body measurements.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It will not directly improve health, and the findings may not apply to all patients.
