First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether carbocisteine, a drug already used for coughs, can help people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). About 46 adults with fatty liver will take the drug to see if it reduces fat buildup in the liver. The goal is to find a safe, affordable treatment for a condition that currently has no approved medications.
