New hope for kids with deadly brain tumors: experimental therapy targets cancer directly in the brain

NCT ID NCT05768880

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new type of personalized cell therapy called SC-CAR4BRAIN for children and young adults with aggressive brain tumors that have come back or not responded to standard treatments. Doctors collect the patient's own immune cells, modify them in a lab to better recognize and attack cancer cells, and then deliver them directly into the fluid-filled spaces of the brain through a special catheter. The main goals are to see if this treatment can be safely made and given, and to find the right dose for future studies.
