Scientists reprogram Kids' own cells to hunt deadly brain cancer

Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new personalized treatment for children and young adults whose ependymoma, a type of brain tumor, has come back or stopped responding to standard care. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells (T cells), genetically modify them in a lab to recognize a protein (HER2) on the tumor, and then infuse them back into the patient. The main goals are to see if this approach is safe and to figure out if it's practical to deliver this complex treatment across multiple hospitals.
