New study probes hidden brain risks of CAR-T cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07375628

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people getting CAR-T therapy for cancer develop serious brain side effects called ICANS. Researchers will use brain scans and thinking tests to compare those who get severe ICANS with those who don't. The goal is to understand the link between brain inflammation and memory or concentration problems. Ten adults scheduled for CAR-T therapy at a Swedish hospital will take part.
