First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at why some women develop hard scar tissue (capsular contracture) around breast implants after mastectomy for breast cancer. Researchers will follow 300 women who had immediate implant-based reconstruction and check their results six months later. The goal is to find factors that lead to this complication so doctors can improve future outcomes.
