Scientists test cannabis drugs on colon tissue to unlock gut relief
NCT ID NCT05760404
Summary
This study aims to understand how drugs that affect the body's cannabis-like (endocannabinoid) system change how the colon muscle moves. Researchers will test these drugs on small pieces of healthy colon tissue collected from 36 patients undergoing surgery for colorectal cancer. The goal is to gather basic knowledge that could one day lead to new treatments for common gut problems like constipation, diarrhea, or irritable bowel syndrome.
