Cannabis for pain: new study reveals hidden risks of daily use

NCT ID NCT05563948

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at what happens when people use cannabis every day for pain. Researchers will give 100 regular cannabis users different types of cannabis (with varying THC and CBD levels) over 15 days in a hospital setting. They will measure pain sensitivity, how much people like the drug, and natural cannabis-like chemicals in the blood. The goal is to understand if daily use changes pain perception and increases the risk of dependence.
