Scientists test new cannabis ingredient for pain and hunger

NCT ID NCT04859296

Summary

This UCLA study is testing whether a cannabis compound called cannabigerol (CBG) can relieve pain and stimulate appetite. Researchers are giving CBG alone and combined with THC to 20 healthy, occasional cannabis users to measure its effects. The goal is to see if CBG can provide benefits like pain relief without the strong 'high' associated with THC.
