First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether Intralipid 20%, a fat emulsion, can reverse the numbing effect of local anesthetics like lidocaine and bupivacaine. Eighteen healthy volunteers receive small injections of anesthetic in their thighs, followed by either Intralipid or saline. Researchers measure how quickly normal sensation returns to see if Intralipid works better than saline.
