First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether Intralipid 20%, a fat emulsion, can reverse the numbing effect of local anesthetics faster than a saltwater solution. Eighteen healthy volunteers receive small injections of numbing medicine in their thighs and then get either Intralipid or saline. Researchers measure how quickly normal feeling returns. The goal is to see if Intralipid could be used to shorten numbness after procedures.
