Summary

This study looks at why some people's bodies produce more TMAO—a chemical linked to heart disease—after eating red meat. Researchers are testing whether a specific gene (gbu) in gut bacteria can predict TMAO levels. 230 healthy adults will take carnitine pills and provide blood, urine, and stool samples to see if the gene is a reliable marker.
