First seen Mar 02, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study compares two surgical treatments for severe, shattered heel bone fractures (Sanders type 3 or 4). One group gets standard surgery to fix the bone with plates and screws, while the other gets that plus a fusion of the subtalar joint. The goal is to see which approach leads to better foot function and pain relief. The study will enroll 40 adults with recent fractures.
