Heart pouch showdown: which device best prevents strokes without blood thinners?
NCT ID NCT07260474
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests two medical devices (Amplatzer Amulet and LAmbre) that close a small pouch in the heart called the left atrial appendage. In people with atrial fibrillation, this pouch can form clots that cause strokes. By sealing it off, the goal is to lower stroke risk and allow patients to stop taking blood thinners. The trial will enroll 200 adults with atrial fibrillation who are at high risk for both stroke and bleeding, and will compare how well each device works and how safe they are.
