Smart scans aim to zap kidney cancer spread with precision radiation
NCT ID NCT07540260
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special type of PET/CT scan (CAIX-targeted) to standard treatment can help doctors precisely target and radiate kidney cancer that has spread. About 70 adults with recurrent or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma will receive standard therapy plus image-guided radiation to visible tumors. The goal is to see if this approach delays cancer progression and improves local control.
