Caffeine under the tongue: a quick fix for Post-Surgery agitation in seniors?
NCT ID NCT07536568
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving a small caffeine tablet under the tongue can help elderly patients (65 and older) wake up faster and feel less confused or agitated after general anesthesia for eye surgery. Fifty participants will receive either caffeine or a placebo, and researchers will measure how quickly they open their eyes and how calm they are in recovery. The goal is to find a simple, safe way to improve recovery for older adults.
