Shock therapy for jaw clenchers: new combo treatment tested

NCT ID NCT07241728

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a mild electrical current (diadynamic current) to a 6-week jaw exercise program can reduce pain and improve jaw function in adults with bruxism (teeth grinding). 24 people with jaw pain will be randomly assigned to either exercises alone or exercises plus the electrical treatment. Researchers will measure pain, bite strength, and mouth opening to see if the combo works better.
