Broccoli power: could this veggie speed up muscle recovery?
NCT ID NCT07373106
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a substance from broccoli (glucoraphanin) can help muscles heal faster after intense exercise. Seventeen healthy adults who don't currently do resistance training will take either the broccoli supplement or a placebo for a week, then do a special arm exercise to cause mild muscle damage. Researchers will measure strength, soreness, and swelling over the next few days to see if the broccoli compound speeds up recovery.
