Radiation may recruit immune cells to fight breast cancer

NCT ID NCT05406232

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at how radiation therapy changes immune cells inside breast cancer tumors. Researchers want to see if radiation causes immune cells to enter the tumor and attack cancer cells. The study involves 36 adults with invasive breast cancer who will receive radiation and have tumor samples taken before and after treatment. The goal is to measure changes in specific immune cells, not to treat the disease directly.
