First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a brief motivational interview during a primary care visit can reduce alcohol and cannabis use among diverse teens aged 12 to 17. Researchers will enroll 500 participants who are at risk for substance use and track changes in how often they drink or use cannabis over six months. The goal is to see if a simple conversation can help young people make healthier choices.
